What does it do?
At the end of each pay period, instead of copying hours out of Fergus by hand, you just pick the dates, click Export, and download a spreadsheet. It includes every team member's hours for that period, already split into regular time and overtime.
You can add notes for each person before exporting - things like leave taken, bonuses, or anything else your payroll person needs to know. Then send the file straight to them.
Saves time
No more copying hours out of Fergus by hand each fortnight.
Overtime worked out for you
Regular and overtime hours are automatically separated - no manual calculations.
Notes included
Add a note for each person - leave, bonuses, anything your payroll provider needs.

Getting started
You'll need your Fergus account connected to FernNola before you can use this app. If you haven't done that yet, go to Settings and follow the steps there first.
- 1
Open the app from your dashboard
On your FernNola dashboard, click the Timesheet Exporter. Your team members from Fergus are loaded automatically - no setup needed.
- 2
Pick your date range and export
Choose the pay period you want, add any notes, and click Export. That's all there is to it.
Exporting your timesheets
Each export covers one pay period. The downloaded file is a spreadsheet (Excel format) with a section for each team member, showing their hours day by day and a total at the bottom.
- 1
Choose a date range
Pick the start and end of your pay period. The app fetches your team's hours from Fergus for those dates.
- 2
Check the preview
You'll see a summary of hours per person before you download anything. It's worth a quick check to make sure everything looks right.
- 3
Add any notes (optional)
If someone took leave, has a bonus, or there's anything your payroll provider needs to know - add a note against that person now.
- 4
Download
Click Export and the file downloads immediately. The filename includes the date range so it's easy to find later.
Choosing a date range
You can pick any date range, or use one of the quick presets to jump straight to a common pay period:
This week
Monday to today
Last week
The full week just gone (Monday to Sunday)
This fortnight
The current two-week pay period
Last fortnight
The previous two-week pay period
Custom
Pick any start and end date
Overtime
The app automatically works out which hours are regular time and which are overtime, so your payroll spreadsheet arrives pre-calculated. You set the thresholds - the app does the maths.
Adding notes for payroll
Before you export, you can add a short note against any team member. The note appears in its own column in the spreadsheet, right next to their hours.
Useful for things like:
Notes aren't saved between exports - you'll add them fresh each pay period.
Common questions
Who shows up in the export?
Anyone who has logged hours in Fergus during the date range you picked. People with no hours for that period are left out.
Does it include hours that haven't been billed to a job yet?
Yes - the export includes all hours logged in Fergus for the period, regardless of whether they've been billed.
Can I export just one person's hours?
Not yet - the export covers the whole team for the selected period. Filtering by person is on our to-do list.
What program do I need to open the file?
The file opens in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet program. Most payroll systems can accept it as an upload too.
Are my notes saved for next time?
No - notes are cleared after each export. You'll add them fresh at the start of each pay run.
