Automatically keep public holidays and your company's important dates in your Fergus calendar - so your team never accidentally schedules work on a day off.

What does it do?

When your team looks at the Fergus calendar to schedule jobs, they need to be able to see which days are public holidays or company shutdowns. Otherwise it's easy to accidentally book work on a day nobody is available.

This app adds public holidays for your region directly into your Fergus calendar, and lets you add your own company events too - things like Christmas shutdowns, team training days, or any other day you want the whole team to see.

Getting started

You'll need your Fergus account connected to FernNola before you can use this app. If you haven't done that yet, go to Settings and follow the steps there first.

Open the app from your dashboard
On your FernNola dashboard, click Enable on the Holiday & Events Calendar card.

Choose your country
Select where your business is based. If you're in Australia, you can also pick your state or territory to get the right local holidays.

Click Sync
That's it - public holidays for the current year are added to your Fergus calendar straight away.

Adding holidays to your calendar

Once you've synced, public holidays appear in Fergus as full-day calendar events - just like they would if you'd added them manually, except you didn't have to.

✓Each holiday appears on the correct date with its official name - e.g. "Waitangi Day", "Christmas Day".

✓You can re-sync at any time without creating duplicates - the app checks before adding anything.

✓Holidays are refreshed automatically every night, so the calendar stays accurate.

Adding your own events

As well as public holidays, you can add your own dates - anything you want your team to see in the Fergus calendar.

✓Give the event a name and pick a date. An optional description can be added too.

✓The event is sent to Fergus straight away - it usually appears in your Fergus calendar within a few seconds of saving.

✓Your custom events stay put when the nightly sync runs - they won't be removed.

✓You can delete any custom event at any time from within the app - it will be removed from your Fergus calendar too.

Good examples: Christmas shutdown, EOFY close, team training day, public holiday in lieu.

Common questions

Will it add the same holiday twice if I sync again?

No. The app checks what's already in your calendar before adding anything, so syncing multiple times is perfectly safe.

Do I need to remember to update it each year?

No - it updates automatically every night. New year's holidays are added in December before the year starts.

Can I set up holidays for more than one country?

Currently one region per Fergus account. If your business spans multiple regions, get in touch and we can look at options.

Can I remove a holiday that was added?

Yes - holidays are just regular Fergus calendar events once they're in. You can delete them directly in Fergus, or use the reset option in the app to clear them all out.
